Eu queria produzir algo mais livre, não digo apenas no conceito de liberdade, mas na obra em si.

E o que seria, a meu ver, a expressão máxima de liberdade para um trabalho artístico? Um ‘produto’ de uma imagem pintada? Ora, em 99% das vezes uma pintura está condicionada a uma moldura, fixa em uma parede. Estava na hora de transcender esse tipo de fronteira. Fui buscando para isto algumas soluções que mesclassem o que sei fazer, que é pintar, com a função última do design e a estética da escultura. Algo “precisava” existir fora das paredes. Ou que independesse delas. Veja, não fazia sentido: minhas obras, mesmo com “asas”, símbolo universal de liberdade, estavam presas ao concreto! Penduradas, uma negação do voo. Foi então que procurei algo que fosse independente, que estivesse além das paredes. Pensei: “Por que não criar as próprias paredes”? Dar vida a elas, mais sentido, significado, emoção, expressão. Por que não desenhar e projetar a parede no lugar de colocar minhas obras nela ou simplesmente pintar sobre ela? Não queria mais que minha obra estivesse condicionada a um ambiente. Queria que ela fosse o ambiente, que tivesse a união da pintura, do design e da escultura.

Minhas paredes representam algo, expressam algo, falam algo, buscam conversar com as pessoas, fazê-las pensar.

Juca wanted to produce something freer, not only in the concept of freedom, but in the work itself. And what would be, in his perception, the maximum expression of freedom for an artistic work? A ‘product’ of a painted image? Well, 99% of the time a painting is conditioned to a frame, fixed on a wall. It was time to transcend this kind of boundary. For this, he was looking for some solutions that would merge what he knows to do, which is painting, with the ultimate function of design and the aesthetics of sculpture. Something “needed” to exist outside the walls. Or that was independent of them. You see, it made no sense: his works, even with “wings”, a universal symbol of freedom, were attached to concrete! Hanged, a denial of flight. It was then that he looked for something that was independent, that was beyond the walls. He thought: “Why not create hos own walls? Give them life, more meaning, significance, emotion, expression. Why not draw and design the wall instead of putting my works on it or just painting on it? I no longer wanted my work to be conditioned to an environment. I wanted it to be the environment, to have the union of painting, design and sculpture. His walls represent something, express something, speak something, seek to talk to people, make them think.
